The coolest thing in the world is here again, the CrossFit season. I know most of you have no clue how an exercise program can turn into a sporting season, but it really can, I promise, and it is super fun. Imagine, for 5 straight weeks, the whiteboard that we have in the gym, turns into a global whiteboard.

Imagine that everyone in the world does the same workout in the same 4 day period, with judges, and then reports their scores to a website. Imagine that over 175,000 people are doing burpees as hard as they possibly can, for 5 weeks, to see how far they can push themselves. Imagine coming to the gym, surrounded by the coolest people you know, and you all get to play a sport where the worst and the best in the world can all compete, on a level playing field. You will never know what it feels like to be Tom Brady. However, you will know what it feels like to try and beat Rich Fronning in a workout.

Yes, we are bringing back all of the fun again this year. We will be doing the “Get Shredded Challenge II” to make sure everyone commits to their diet for the 5 weeks during the open. We will be throwing a massive party for Chuck Wagner in support of The Hoyt Foundation. Last year we raised $1,400 for Chuck and Team Hoyt on his way to running his 3^rd Boston Marathon. After the 2013 Boston Marathon, we plan on bringing in more sponsors, more fundraising, and more people to push the fundraising over the $2,000 mark. There is also one huge game changer that will affect us all. This will be announced on Monday, January 20^th. This is the biggest announcement CrossFit PB has made in the last 3.5 years.

Once you have registered, all you have to do is show up, work hard and have a ton of fun competitively exercising.

If you have made it this far, now you have to listen to all the good stuff. Bryan and I take this stuff pretty seriously. Since 2010, we have qualified four individuals every year to the regional. The regional takes the top 48 men and women after the 5 weeks in the CrossFit Open. We strongly believe that we can continue this tradition. There is also a team competition. CrossFit takes the top 30 teams to the Regional. We have consistently placed a team in the top 10 of SoCal for the last 3 years. This year, we want to qualify 2 teams. We have the “CrossFit PB” team that consists of 8 total badasses. We are hoping they finish in the top 3 of the Open. We also have, “The Mecca of Swole,” consisting of the remainder of our athletes. We will combine the top 3 male and female scores every week and take on all of SoCal. So what do we need? We need you to sign up. The more people we have, the better chance of really good scores.
